    Tipo y Observaciones

Material Tipo: Basónimo: Laennecia alpina Poepp.
Observaciones: Recognition. The cluster analysis (Fig. 3A) placed Gamochaeta alpina with G. nivalis and G. serpyllifolia. These species are caespitose with prostrate stems, con colorous leaves, and capitula arranged in headlike clus ters. Gamochaeta alpina mainly differs by its achene trichomes that are clavate (vs. globose or subclavate in G. serpyllifolia and G. nivalis).
