Descripcion

Plantas perennes, rizomatosas, de 30-60 cm de alto. Tallos robustos con cerdas largas y pelos glandulares amarillos o pardos. Hojas oblongo-lanceoladas u oblanceoladas, de 7-10(-15) × 2-3 cm, semiabrazadoras en la base, de ápice agudo u obtuso, borde liso o ligeramente denticulado, con pelos glandulares cortos y cerdas largas en ambas caras. Capítulos dispuestos en inflorescencias tirsoideas laxas; pedúnculo e involucro flocosos con pelos glandulares y excepcionalmente cerdas dispersas. Involucro cilíndrico-ovado, de 10-11(-13) × 7-9 mm; filarios lanceolados, subagudos. Flores amarillas, con lígulas cortas. Aquenios oscuros, de 4-5 mm de largo. Papus blanco-amarillento, de 5-6 mm de largo.

Distribucion y Habitat

Endémica de la zona serrana de las provincias de Córdoba y San Luis, en la Provincia Biogeográfica Chaqueña, entre 1000-2000 m s.m.

    Observaciones: El ejemplar A. T. Hunziker 9503, seguramente por error, ha sido citado en Sleumer (1956) además como H. achalense, pero a nuestro juicio coincide con H. cordobense.
